THE TIME HAS COME TO BOUNCE YOURSELF FIT!
Come and bounce away the pounds during one of our weekday fitness sessions!
Bounce Fit is fast becoming a must-do activity for every exercise fanatic out there. It is also proving popular with those making their first foray into fitness. Not only is it exhilarating fun but it’s soft on the joints, tough on the core and a massive calorie burner too. At least 600 to be precise...Working every muscle in the body - including the face thanks to all that grinning - it has revolutionised our thinking when it comes to keeping fit.


So who is behind our hugely successful sessions here at Jump Division?


Meet Amanda Longshaw, the lady who’s gathered rather a reputation for putting the fun back into fitness...



So Amanda, how long have you been an instructor?

It's been 19 years now, I can hardly believe I’m saying that! I had a short break when I had my children but came back into teaching six years ago and am loving it.


You must have plenty of experience then?

Yes, I've taught everything from pilates and spin to zumba and aqua as well as managing gyms too. Bounce Fit is like any class in that it’s all about warming up and cooling down properly, as well as keeping things safe and effective.

It’s really enjoyable to teach.


Who can do it?

Anyone can do Bounce Fit whether they are just starting out or are already into exercising. We have a great age range too which is really nice to see. The brilliant thing is you can work at your own pace. Those who aren’t used to going to a gym, or are new to keeping fit, like it because the trampoline takes all the impact so it's soft on the joints.


What do you do in a Bounce Fit class?

People coming for the first time might think they have to jump really high for an hour non-stop but it's not like that at all! In fact, much of the bouncing is low, working the legs and the core. Bouncing from side to side or backwards and forwards. There are times when you have the opportunity to bounce as high as you can but I never shame anyone if that’s not something they want to do!

The more serious athletes love it because it's a totally different way of training for them and is very effective. For those who don’t want to exert themselves too much there are options throughout the class.

It's up to the individual. They can take it really lightly or just go for it.


What do you love most about your job?

Oh the people definitely! I love every class I do because it's all about them. We just really enjoy ourselves.

The best part is that as hard as it gets, everyone is still smiling. It's just like adults having a kids playtime! I believe that you really do need to have fun when you're exercising, it's a great motivator.

So basically I’m getting paid to have fun. It's got to be the best job in the world!
